"Except for those who repent..."
It has been recited as yudkhalūn (they shall be entered) and yadkhulūn (they shall enter). This means they shall not have anything of the reward for their deeds diminished, nor shall it be withheld from them; rather, it shall be multiplied for them.
This serves as an explanation that their previous state of disbelief does not harm them if they repent from it. This is derived from the expression: "What prevented you (mā ẓalamaka) from doing such and such?"—meaning: "What stopped you?" Or, it means they shall not be wronged (yuzlamūn) at all—that is, not in the slightest degree.
