Maryam: 63

{We shall bequeath (nūrithu)} It is also read as nuwarrithu. It is a metaphor, meaning: We shall cause the Garden to remain for them, just as the heir remains in possession of the wealth of the deceased.

Because the righteous meet their Lord on the Day of Resurrection having completed their deeds, while the fruit of those deeds—which is the Garden—remains, when He admits them into the Garden, He has bequeathed it to them as a result of their piety, just as an heir inherits wealth from the deceased.

It is also said: They are bequeathed the dwellings in the Garden that would have belonged to the people of the Fire had they obeyed.

{And we [angels] descend not except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us and what is between that; and your Lord is never forgetful.}
