Tafsir
Verse range: 19:85
{يوم نحشر المتقين}
The word {يوم} (the Day) is in the accusative case due to an implied verb, meaning: "On the Day We gather and drive [them], We shall do to both groups that which description cannot encompass." Alternatively, it means: "Remember the Day We gather." It is also permissible for it to be governed by the verb {لا يملكون} (they do not possess).
The righteous (المتقون) are mentioned with a term of veneration. This is because they are gathered unto their Lord, who has enveloped them in His mercy and singled them out for His pleasure and honor, just as delegations arrive before kings, awaiting the honor they hold for them.
It is narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):
"They will not be gathered on foot, by Allah. Rather, they will be upon she-camels whose saddles are of gold, and upon noble mounts whose saddles are of ruby."
{ونسوق المجرمين إلى جهنم وردا}
"And We shall drive the criminals to Hell, thirsty."
