Tafsir
Verse range: 2:121-123
{Those to whom We have given the Book} They are the believers among the People of the Book.
{They recite it with its true recitation} They do not distort it, nor do they alter what is in it regarding the description of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
{It is they who believe in it} In their Book, as opposed to those who distort it.
{And whoever disbelieves in it} Among those who distort it.
{It is they who are the losers} For they have purchased misguidance at the price of guidance.
{And when Abraham was tested by his Lord with words, and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."
And when We made the House a place of return for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for worship and those who bow and prostrate."}
