Surah Ta-Ha 20:36

ﳕ ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ

[Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses.

"He said: 'You have been granted...'"

The Request (al-su’ūl): It means that which is requested (al-maṭlūb). It is a noun in the form of a faʿl (فعل) used in the sense of a mafʿūl (مفعول), similar to your saying khubz (خبز) meaning makhbūz (baked), and akl (أكل) meaning ma’kūl (eaten).


{ And indeed We conferred favor upon you another time. When We inspired to your mother that which was inspired: "Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him." And I bestowed upon you love from Me, that you might be brought up under My eye. }
