Tafsir of Al-Anbiya' 21:10

"We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention..."

{Your mention}: Your honor and your renown, as He said: "And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people" (Az-Zukhruf: 44).

Or it means: your exhortation.

Or it contains the noble character traits through which you seek praise or a good reputation, such as being a good neighbor, fulfilling covenants, truthfulness in speech, discharging trusts, generosity, and the like.

"And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered, and produced after it another people. And when they perceived Our punishment, at once they fled from it. [They were told], 'Do not flee, but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes, that you might be questioned.' They said, 'Woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.' And that remained their cry until We made them [like] a harvested field, extinguished."
