Tafsir of Al-Anbiya' 21:105

"And We have already written in the Psalms (al-Zabur) after the Reminder (al-Dhikr) that the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants."

Regarding the Zabur (Psalms): Al-Sha‘bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is the Psalms of David (peace be upon him).

Regarding the Dhikr (Reminder): It is the Torah. It is also said that it is a name for the genus of all books revealed to the prophets. Others say the Dhikr is the "Mother of the Book" (Umm al-Kitab), meaning the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh).

Regarding "the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants": It means that the believers will inherit it after the expulsion of the disbelievers. This is like the Almighty’s saying: "And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones" (Al-A'raf: 137), and: "Moses said to his people, 'Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous'" (Al-A'raf: 128).

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is the land of Paradise. It is also said: It is the Holy Land, which the nation of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will inherit.

"Indeed, in this [Qur'an] is notification for a people who are worshippers."
