Surah Al-Anbiya' 21:59
ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers."

Al-Anbiya: 59
"They said, 'Who has done this...'"
That is: whoever committed this breaking and smashing is a great wrongdoer, counted among the oppressors. This is either:
- Because of his audacity toward the gods they truly held in reverence and veneration.
- Or because they perceived an excess in the way he smashed them and a persistence in showing them contempt.
"They said, 'We heard a youth who mentions them, who is called Abraham.' They said, 'Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may testify.'"
