Tafsir of Al-Anbiya' 21:6

{Will they then believe?} In this is [the implication] that they are more obstinate than those who demanded signs from their prophets and pledged that they would believe upon receiving them. Yet, when the signs came to them, they broke their pledges or disobeyed, so Allah destroyed them. Had We given these [people] what they demand, they would have been even more prone to breaking their word.

{And We did not send before you [O Muhammad] except men to whom We revealed, so ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know.}
