"And Ishmael, and Idris, and Dhu al-Kifl..."

Regarding Dhu al-Kifl: It is said he is Elijah (Ilyas). It is also said he is Zechariah, or Joshua son of Nun. It is as if he was named "Dhu al-Kifl" (Possessor of the Portion) because he truly possessed a portion from God and was genuinely fortunate.

It is also said: He received double the deeds of the prophets of his time and double their reward.

It is also said: There are five prophets who have two names:

  1. Israel and Jacob.
  2. Elijah (Ilyas) and Dhu al-Kifl.
  3. Jesus (Isa) and the Messiah (al-Masih).
  4. Jonah (Yunus) and Dhu al-Nun.
  5. Muhammad and Ahmad. May the blessings and peace of God be upon them all.

"And [mention] the Man of the Fish (Dhu al-Nun), when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. But he called out within the darknesses, 'There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.'"
