Tafsir of Al-Hajj 22:71

{And they worship besides [Allah]...} They worship that for which they hold no proof of its validity—neither a heavenly proof from the direction of revelation and audition, nor a necessary knowledge that compelled them toward it, nor a rational argument that drove them to it.

{...and there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.} And there is no one for those who have committed such injustice who can aid them or validate their doctrine.

{And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval.} They are on the verge of assaulting those who recite Our verses to them.

{Say, "Then shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that? [It is] the Fire which Allah has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is the destination."}
