Tafsir
Verse range: 24:41-42
{...صفات} (Saffat): They spread their wings in the air.
The pronoun in {علمه} (His knowledge) refers to either Allah or to each [bird/creature]. The same applies to {صلاته وتسبيحه} (His prayer and His glorification).
Prayer (al-salat) means supplication (al-du'a). It is not far-fetched that Allah inspires the birds with their supplication and glorification, just as He inspired them with all the other precise forms of knowledge that even rational beings can barely grasp.
{ألم تر أن الله يزجي سحابا ثم يؤلف بينه ثم يجعله ركاما فترى الودق يخرج من خلاله وينزل من السماء من جبال فيها من برد فيصيب به من يشاء ويصرفه عن من يشاء يكاد سنا برقه يذهب بالأبصار * يقلب الله الليل والنهار إن في ذلك لعبرة لأولي الأبصار}
"Do you not see that Allah drives clouds, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? Then you see the rain emerging from within them. He sends down from the sky mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, striking with it whom He wills and averting it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightning almost takes away the sight. Allah alternates the night and the day. Indeed, in that is a lesson for those who have vision."
