ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.

Tafsir
Verse range: 25:47
"And He it is who made the night for you as a garment, and sleep as a rest (subāt), and made the day a rising (nushūr)."
He likens what covers of the darkness of the night to a concealing garment.
Subāt means death. The masbūt (the one in a state of subāt) is the dead person, because he is cut off from life. This is like His saying: "And it is He who takes your souls by night" (Al-An'am: 60).
If you ask: Why did you not interpret it as "rest"? I say: The mention of "rising" (nushūr) in contrast to it rejects that, with the rejection of a thirsty camel refusing to drink from a muddy pool.
This verse, along with its indication of the Creator’s power, manifests His grace upon His creation. For in being veiled by the covering of the night, there are many religious and worldly benefits for people.
Sleep and wakefulness, and their resemblance to death and life—what a lesson they contain for those who take heed! It is narrated from Luqman that he said to his son: "O my son, just as you sleep and then awaken, so too will you die and then be resurrected."
"And it is He who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water."
