Al-Furqān: 58

"And rely upon the Ever-Living..."

He commanded him to trust in Him and to entrust his affairs to Him in order to suffice against their evils, while adhering to the foundation of reliance and the basis of seeking refuge, which is: obeying Him, worshipping Him, declaring His transcendence, and praising Him.

He made it known to him that the Ever-Living who does not die is the only One worthy of being relied upon, and that one should not rely upon others among the living who die. It is reported from some of the predecessors that when he recited this, he said: "It is not fitting for any person of intellect to trust in a created being after this."

Then He showed him that the affairs of His servants are not in his hands—whether they believe or disbelieve—and that He is All-Aware of their conditions and sufficient in recompensing their deeds.

"Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, then He established Himself above the Throne—the Most Merciful—so ask about Him one [who is] All-Aware."
