Tafsir of Al-Furqan 25:75

"Those will be rewarded with the chamber..."

The intended meaning is "the chambers" (al-ghurufāt), which are the high dwellings in Paradise. It is singularized here to denote the genus (category). The evidence for this is His saying: "And they, in the high chambers, will be secure" (Saba': 37), and the reading of those who read it as "in the chamber."

"...for what they patiently endured"

Meaning: for their patience in performing acts of obedience, in abstaining from desires, in enduring the harm of the disbelievers and striving against them, in enduring poverty, and other such things. It is left unrestricted to encompass everything that requires patience.

It is also read as yulaqqawna (they shall be met with), as in His saying: "And He met them with radiance and happiness" (Al-Insan: 11). And yulqawna (they shall encounter), as in His saying: "He will encounter punishment" (Al-Furqan: 68).

"And they will be met therein with greetings and peace"

Tahiyyah (greeting) is a prayer for longevity. Salam (peace) is a prayer for safety. This means the angels greet them and offer them peace, or that they greet one another and offer peace to one another. Or, it means they are granted eternal life and immortality, safe from every affliction.

O Allah, grant us success in Your obedience, place us among the people of Your mercy, and provide us with that which You provide them in the abode of Your pleasure.

"Say, 'My Lord would not value you were it not for your supplication. For you have denied, so it [the punishment] will be inevitable.'"
