Surah An-Naml 27:6

ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ

And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing.

An-Naml: (6) "And indeed, you receive the Qur'an..."

{لَتُلَقَّى الْقُرْءَانَ} You are being given it and taught it.

{مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيمٍ} From the presence of a Hakim (Wise One) and an Alim (All-Knowing One). That is to say: from [the presence of] a Wise One and a Knowing One. This is the significance of them both appearing as indefinite nouns.

This verse is a foundation and a preamble for the narratives he intends to present thereafter, and for the subtleties of His wisdom and the intricacies of His knowledge contained within them.


(7) "When Moses said to his family, 'Indeed, I have perceived a fire; I will bring you from it information or bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves.'"
