Surah Al-Qasas 28:52



ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it.

Al-Qasas: (52) "Those to whom We gave the Book..."

[Context of Revelation] It was revealed concerning the believers among the People of the Book.

Regarding Rifa‘ah ibn Qurazah, it is said: It was revealed concerning ten people, of whom I am one.

It is also said: It was revealed concerning forty Muslims from the People of the Gospel—thirty-two who came with Ja‘far from the land of Abyssinia, and eight from the Levant.

The pronoun in "before it" (min qablihi) refers to the Qur’an.

Al-Qasas: (52) "Those to whom We gave the Book..."

{ And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, we were, before it, Muslims." }
