If you ask: "The verb za‘ama (to claim) requires two objects, as in the poet’s saying: 'And I did not claim you to be dismissed from that.' So where are the two objects here?"

I reply: They are omitted. The implied meaning is: "Those whom you used to claim were My partners." It is permissible to omit both objects in the chapter of ẓanantu (verbs of opinion), though it is not correct to omit only one of them.
