Tafsir
Verse range: 29:26
"And Lot believed him" Lot was the son of Abraham’s sister (peace be upon them both). He was the first to believe in him when he saw that the fire did not burn him.
"And he said: 'I am migrating'" Meaning Abraham said: "I am migrating from Kutha"—which is in the Sawad of Kufa—to Harran, and from there to Palestine. Hence, they say: "Every prophet has one migration, but Abraham had two."
He was accompanied on his migration by Lot, his wife Sarah, and Hagar. He was seventy-five years old at the time.
"To my Lord" Meaning: To the place where He commanded me to migrate for His sake.
"Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might" The One who protects me from my enemies.
"The Wise" The One who does not command me except with that which is in my best interest.
"And We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and We placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous."
