Al-Ankabut: 27

{And We gave him Isaac...}

{His reward} is the good commendation, the blessings upon him until the end of time, righteous offspring, and prophethood, and that the followers of all religions hold him in high esteem.

If you ask: Why was Ishmael (peace be upon him) not mentioned, while Isaac and his descendants were?

I say: He was indicated by His saying: {And We placed in his descendants prophethood and the Scripture}. This indication is sufficient due to the fame of his affair and the loftiness of his status.

If you ask: What is meant by "the Scripture"?

I say: It refers to the genus of Scripture, such that it includes all the books revealed to his descendants—the four: the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel, and the Quran.

{And Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds. Do you approach men, obstruct the road, and commit evil in your gatherings?" But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful." He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."}
