Tafsir of Al-`Ankabut 29:58-59

{We will surely lodge them in the Paradise} We will surely cause them to dwell in the high chambers of Paradise. It is also read as lanuthwiyannahum (We will surely house them), derived from al-thawa', which means descending to reside. It is said: "He resided (thawa) in the house," "He caused himself to reside (athwa)," and "He caused another to reside (athwa)."

Thawa is intransitive. When it is made transitive by adding the hamza of transfer, it does not exceed one object, similar to dhahaba (he went) and adhhabtuhu (I made him go). The grammatical justification for it taking both the pronoun of the believers and the "chambers" as objects is:

1. Treating it as synonymous with lunanzilannahum (We will surely cause them to descend) and lanubawwi'annahum (We will surely lodge them).
2. The omission of a preposition, allowing the verb to reach the object.
3. Likening a specific location to a general one.

Yahya ibn Wathab read it as fani'ma (So excellent is...), with the addition of the fa.

{Those who have been patient} Patient in abandoning their homelands and migrating for the sake of religion; patient against the harm of the polytheists; patient through trials and calamities; patient in performing acts of obedience; and patient in refraining from acts of disobedience. In all of this, they relied upon none but Allah.

{And how many a creature carries not its own provision! Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.}
