Tafsir
Verse range: 3:200
"Endure" Be patient regarding the religion and its obligations.
"And out-endure" The enemies of God in Jihad; that is, outdo them in patience against the hardships of war. Do not be less patient or less steadfast than they are. "Out-enduring" (muṣābarah) is a specific category of patience, mentioned after general patience because of its intensity and difficulty.
"And station yourselves" Remain at the frontiers, tethering your horses there, watching and prepared for battle. God, the Almighty and Exalted, said: "And from the tethering of horses, you strike fear into the enemy of God and your enemy" (Al-Anfāl: 60).
Regarding this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever stations himself for a day and a night in the path of God, it is equivalent to a month of fasting and standing in prayer, without breaking his fast or turning away from his prayer except for a necessity."
Regarding the virtues of the Surah:
The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever recites Surah Āl ʿImrān is granted, for every verse in it, a safe passage across the bridge of Hell."
And from him (peace and blessings be upon him):
"Whoever recites the Surah in which Āl ʿImrān is mentioned on a Friday, God and His angels will pray for him until the sun is veiled."
