Tafsir
Verse range: 3:60
"The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters."
[The phrase] "The truth" is the predicate of an omitted subject; meaning: "It is the truth." This is like the saying of the people of Khaybar: "Muhammad and the army."
His prohibition against doubting—while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is far too exalted to be a doubter—is a form of incitement to increase [his] steadfastness and tranquility, and to serve as a kindness (lutf) to others.
"Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you, say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray earnestly and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars.'"
