Verse range: 32:27
{The Jarz (barren land)}: The land whose vegetation has been juriza—that is, cut off. This is either due to a lack of water, or because it was grazed and removed. It is not said of land that does not grow anything, such as salt marshes (sibakh). This is evidenced by His saying: {Then We bring forth thereby crops}.
{Thereby}: By means of the water.
{Their cattle eat}: From its fodder.
{And themselves}: From its grain.
It is also recited as ya’kulu (in the masculine, with a ya).
{And they say, "When will this victory be, if you are truthful?" Say, "On the Day of Victory, their faith will not benefit those who disbelieved, nor will they be reprieved." So turn away from them and wait; indeed, they are waiting.}
