Fatir: (14) If you call upon them, they do not...
{If you call upon them, they do not hear your supplication}
Because they are inanimate objects.
{And if they were to hear}
By way of hypothesis and metaphor, {they would not respond to you} because they do not claim the divinity you attribute to them, and they disavow it. It is also said: They would not benefit you.
{And they will deny your association [with Allah]}
On the Day of Resurrection.
{And none can inform you like one who is All-Aware}
No one can inform you of a matter like an expert who is knowledgeable about it. He means: The one who is truly expert in a matter is the only one who can inform you of the truth, unlike other informants. The meaning is: This which I have informed you of regarding the state of the idols is the truth, for I am All-Aware of what I have informed you.
It is also recited: (yadʿūn) (they call) with both yāʾ and tāʾ.
{O mankind, you are the poor in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation. And that is not difficult for Allah.}
