{مما عملت أيدينا} Meaning: That which We alone undertook to bring into existence, and none other than Us was capable of undertaking. This is stated to emphasize the perfection of its creation and the wisdom therein, which none but He could accomplish. "Work of the hands" is a metaphor derived from the work of those who labor with their hands.

{فهم لها مالكون} Meaning: We created them for their sake and granted them ownership of them. Thus, they manage them as owners do, exclusively enjoying their benefits without interference. Alternatively, it means they are in control and mastery of them, as in the poet’s saying: *I have become unable to carry weapons, nor can I control the head of the camel if it bolts.* Meaning: I cannot restrain it. This is among the manifest blessings; for who could master them were it not for His subduing and subjecting them? As the poet says: *The young boy turns it in every direction,* *And the tether holds it to humiliation.* *The young girl strikes it with clubs,* *Yet it shows no indignation nor defiance.*

Therefore, Allah, Glory be to Him, has obligated the rider to thank this blessing and glorify Him by saying: "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it."

{فمنها ركوبهم ومنها يأكلون} It has been recited as *rukūbuhum* and *rukūbatuhum*; both refer to that which is ridden, similar to *ḥalūb* and *ḥalūbah* (that which is milked). It is also said that *rukūbah* is a plural. Another reading is *rukūbuhum*, meaning "possessors of their riding." Or, "Among their benefits is their riding."

{منافع ومشارب} * **{منافع}:** Such as hides, fur, wool, and other things. * **{مشارب}:** Such as milk. He mentioned them generally, but detailed them in His saying: *"And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents..."* (An-Naḥl: 80). *Mashārib* is the plural of *mashrab*, which is the place of drinking or the drink itself.

{واتخذوا من دون الله ءالهة لعلهم ينصرون * لا يستطيعون نصرهم وهم لهم جند محضرون * فلا يحزنك قولهم إنا نعلم ما يسرون وما يعلنون}

They took, besides Allah, deities [hoping] that they would be helped. They are not able to help them, and they [the worshippers] are for them [the deities] soldiers brought forward [to be punished]. So do not let their speech grieve you; indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare.
