Tafsir of As-Saffat 37:71

{And certainly, there strayed before them} Before your people, the Quraysh.

{Most of the ancients} The nations of old.

{And We had sent among them warners} Prophets who warned them of the consequences.

{So see how was the end of the warned} Those who were warned and cautioned; meaning, they were all destroyed.

{Except the servants of Allah} Those among them who believed and made their religion sincere for Allah, or those whom Allah purified for His religion (according to the two readings).

{And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. And We made his descendants those remaining. And We left for him [favorable mention] among the later generations: "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. Then We drowned the others.}
