Verse range: 38:64
{ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ }: That which we have recounted regarding them.
{ لَحَقٌّ }: It is inevitable that they will speak of it.
Then He clarified what it is, saying: { تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ } (The disputing of the people of the Fire).
If you ask: Why is that called "disputing" (takhāṣum)?
I say: Their exchange of words and what occurs between them of questions and answers is likened to what occurs between disputants in such matters. Furthermore, because the statement of the leaders: "No welcome to them," and the statement of their followers: "Nay, you! No welcome to you," is a form of dispute; thus, the entire exchange of words was named "disputing" because it contains that element.
