Whoever desires the reward of this world - then with Allah is the reward of this world and the Hereafter. And ever is Allah Hearing and Seeing.

Tafsir
Verse range: 4:134
"Whoever desires the reward of this world..." Like the warrior who desires the spoils of war through his struggle.
"...then with Allah is the reward of this world and the Hereafter." Why then does he seek one without the other, when the one he seeks is the baser of the two? For whoever struggles purely for the sake of Allah, the spoils will not miss him, and he shall have the reward of the Hereafter, in comparison to which the spoils are as nothing.
The meaning: With Allah is the reward of both this world and the Hereafter for him, should he desire it; thus, the recompense is linked to the condition.
