Ghafir: (17) "Today, every soul will be recompensed..."

Having established that sovereignty belongs to Allah alone on that Day, He enumerates the consequences:

  1. Every soul will be recompensed for what it earned.
  2. Injustice is impossible, for Allah is not unjust to His servants.
  3. The reckoning will not be delayed, for Allah is not preoccupied by one account over another; He will reckon with all of creation simultaneously, for He is the swiftest of reckoners.

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "When He begins their reckoning, the people of Paradise will say nothing but what is in it [Paradise], and the people of the Fire will say nothing but what is in it [the Fire]."

{ And warn them of the Day of Imminent Doom, when hearts are at the throats, filled with anguish. The wrongdoers will have no devoted friend and no intercessor who is obeyed. }
