Surah Ghafir 40:53



ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ

And We had certainly given Moses guidance, and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture

Ghafir: (53) And We certainly gave Moses...

"And We certainly gave Moses the guidance" He means by "the guidance": everything He gave him regarding religion, including the miracles, the Torah, and the laws.

"And We bequeathed" Meaning: We left for the Children of Israel after him.

"The Scripture" Meaning: The Torah.

"As guidance and a reminder" Meaning: As a source of direction and a reminder. Their grammatical state (accusative) is due to them being maf‘ul lahu (causative objects) or hal (circumstantial qualifiers).

"For those of understanding" Meaning: Those who believe in it and act according to what is within it.

(55) So be patient, indeed the promise of Allah is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.
