Az-Zukhruf: (6) "And how many a prophet We sent..."

{And there did not come to them} This is a narration of a past, continuous state; meaning: they were always upon that [state of disbelief]. This serves as a consolation to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) regarding the mockery of his people.

{Stronger than them} The pronoun refers to the extravagant people, because the address shifted away from them toward the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to inform him about them.

{And the example of the former peoples has passed} Meaning: It has preceded in the Qur’an, in more than one place, the mention of their stories and their astonishing state, which deserves to be cited as an example. This is a promise to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a threat to them.

(7) "And if you asked them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' they would surely say, 'They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.'"

{He who made for you the earth a bed and made for you therein paths that you might be guided}

{And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land—thus will you be brought forth}
