Az-Zukhruf: 60

{And if We willed, We could have made from among you angels succeeding you on the earth.}

{And if We willed}—by Our power over the wonders of affairs and the marvels of creation—{We could have made from among you}—meaning, We could have begotten from among you, O men—{angels}—who would succeed you on the earth just as your children succeed you.

Just as We brought forth ‘Īsā (Jesus) from a female without a male, [We could have done this] so that you might recognize Our distinction through [Our] dazzling power, and so that you might know that angels are bodies that are only begotten from bodies, whereas the Essence of the Eternal is exalted above that.

{And indeed, it [‘Īsā] is a sign for the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path.}
