Tafsir of Al-Jathiyah 45:20

{هَٰذَا} This Qur’an {بَصَائِرُ لِلنَّاسِ} is an insight for mankind. He has made what it contains of the landmarks of religion and the laws [of the Sharia] equivalent to the insights [basā’ir] in the hearts. Just as He made it a spirit and a life, it is also a guidance from misguidance, and a mercy from punishment for those who believe and are certain. It has also been recited as hādhihi basā’ir (these are insights), meaning: these verses.

{أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَوَاءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ}

"Or do those who commit evil deeds think that We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds, [making them] equal in their living and their dying? Evil is that which they judge."
