Tafsir of Al-Jathiyah 45:34

{We will forget you}: We will abandon you in the punishment just as you abandoned the preparation for {the meeting of this Day of yours}, which is obedience.

Or, We will treat you as something forgotten, unworthy of concern, just as you did not concern yourselves with the meeting of this Day and did not let it cross your minds—like something cast aside, forgotten and neglected.

If you ask: What is the meaning of attributing the "meeting" to the "Day"? I say: It is like the meaning of attributing the "plotting" in His saying, Exalted is He: {Nay, [it was your] plotting by night and day} (Saba': 33). That is: You forgot the meeting of the Day during this day of yours, and the meeting of its recompense.

It is recited as la yukhrajun (they will not be brought out) with a fatha on the ya'.

{And they will not be asked to make amends}: They will not be asked to seek the pleasure of their Lord, meaning to satisfy Him.

{Then, to Allah belongs all praise, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds. And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.}
