Tafsir of Muhammad 47:17

{He increases them in guidance} God increases them in guidance through divine enablement (tawfiq).

{And those who are guided} He assists them in it. Or, He grants them the reward for their piety (taqwa).

Al-Suddi said: He clarifies for them that which they must avoid. It is also recited as: "And He gives them" (wa-a‘tahum).

It is said that the pronoun in "He increases them" refers to the speech of the Messenger or to the mockery of the hypocrites.

{Do they await anything but the Hour, that it should come upon them suddenly? For its signs have already come. How, then, will they have their remembrance when it has come to them?}
