Tafsir of Ad-Dhariyat 51:46

{And the people of Noah...}

It is read in the genitive case (al-jarr), meaning: "And [We destroyed] among the people of Noah." This is supported by the reading of ‘Abdullah [ibn Mas‘ud]: "And among the people of Noah."

It is also read in the accusative case (al-nasb), meaning: "And We destroyed the people of Noah," because what precedes it [in the surah] points to that. Or, it may mean: "And remember the people of Noah."

{And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander. And the earth We have spread, and how excellent are the preparers.}
