Tafsir of Ad-Dhariyat 51:47

{بأيد} By strength. Al-ayd and al-ad mean strength. It is said: āda ya’īdu (he became strong), and he is ayid (strong).

{وإنا لموسعون} We are capable, derived from al-wus‘, which is power/capacity. The mūsi‘ is the one who has the power to spend.

Al-Hasan said: We expand provision through rain.

It is also said: We have placed a vast expanse between it and the earth.

{فنعم الماهدون} So excellent are We as the expanders/preparers (of the earth).

{ومن كل شىء خلقنا زوجين لعلكم تذكرون} And of all things We have created two mates, that you may remember.
