Tafsir of Ad-Dhariyat 51:49

{And of all things} meaning: of every type of living creature, {We created two mates} a male and a female.

Al-Hasan said: The heaven and the earth, the night and the day, the sun and the moon, the land and the sea, death and life. He enumerated these things and said: Every two of these are a pair, while Allah the Exalted is One, having no equal.

{That you may remember} meaning: We did all of that—the construction of the heaven, the spreading of the earth, and the creation of pairs—with the intention that you might remember, so that you may recognize the Creator and worship Him.

{So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. And do not make with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.}
