And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.

An-Najm: 27–30

{They name the angels}—meaning each one of them—{with the naming of the female}; because when they said, "The angels are the daughters of God," they named each one of them a "daughter," which is the naming of the female.

{They have no knowledge of it}—meaning of that, and of what they say. In the reading of Ubayy: "of her" (referring to the angels). Or, the naming {does not avail against the truth at all}—meaning that the truth, which is the reality of a thing and what it truly is, is only attained through knowledge and certainty, not through conjecture and illusion.

{So turn away} from the invitation of the one you see turning away from the remembrance of God and the Hereafter, desiring nothing but the worldly life; do not exhaust yourself over his conversion. Then He said: {Indeed, your Lord is most knowing}—meaning God alone knows who will respond and who will not, while you do not know. So, ease your soul and do not weary it, for you do not guide whom you love, and upon you is only the notification.

His saying, {That is their reach of knowledge}, is a parenthetical statement, or [it means]: Turn away from him and do not confront him; your Lord is most knowing of the straying and the guided, and He will recompense both with the reward they deserve.

{And to God belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, that He may recompense those who do evil with what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward]—Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, except for small offenses. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He is most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.}
