"And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled..."

Meaning: Everything He has informed of, commanded, prohibited, promised, and threatened has been fulfilled.

"...in truth and in justice. None can change His words..."

Meaning: No one can change anything of that which is most truthful and most just.

  • "In truth and in justice" (ṣidqan wa-ʿadlan): These are in the accusative case (naṣb) as a state (ḥāl).
  • It is also recited as "The words of your Lord" (kalimātu rabbika), meaning that which He has spoken.
  • It is also said: It refers to the Qur'an.

"And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying."
