ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ
And when a sign comes to them, they say, "Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah." Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire.
Tafsir
Verse range: 6:124
{God knows best} This is a new statement intended to rebuke them, and to indicate that no one is chosen for prophethood except the one He knows is fit for it; He is more knowing than they are as to where He places His message.
{Those who committed crimes shall be afflicted} Among their leaders, with {humiliation} and insignificance after their pride and greatness, {and a severe punishment} in both abodes: through captivity, killing, and the torment of the Fire.
{So whoever God wills to guide, He expands his breast for Islam; and whoever He wills to lead astray, He makes his breast tight and constricted, as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does God place defilement upon those who do not believe.}
{And this is the path of your Lord, [leading] straight. We have detailed the verses for a people who remember.}
{For them is the Home of Peace with their Lord, and He is their guardian because of what they used to do.}
