Tafsir
Verse range: 6:32
"And the worldly life is not..."
He characterized the deeds of this world as play, amusement, and preoccupation with that which is of no concern and yields no benefit—unlike the deeds of the Hereafter, which yield great benefits.
His saying, "for those who fear [Allah]," is evidence that everything other than the deeds of the righteous is play and amusement.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) read it as: "And the home of the Hereafter..."
It was also recited as: "Do you [plural] understand" (ta‘qilūn) and "Do they [plural] understand" (ya‘qilūn).
"We know indeed that it grieves you, what they say. But indeed, they do not deny you, but it is the verses of Allah that the wrongdoers reject."
