Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should take away your hearing and your sight and set a seal upon your hearts, which deity other than Allah could bring them [back] to you?" Look how we diversify the verses; then they [still] turn away.

Al-An'am: 46

{Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should take away your hearing and your sight"} by making you deaf and blind, {and seal your hearts} by covering them in a way that causes your understanding and intellect to depart, {who is a god other than Allah who could bring it to you?}

Meaning: Who could bring that [which was taken] to you? This treats the pronoun as a demonstrative noun, or refers to that which He took and sealed.

{They turn away} meaning: they turn away from the signs after they have become manifest.

{Say, "Have you considered: if the punishment of Allah should come to you suddenly or openly, will any be destroyed except the wrongdoing people?"}
