{ And who is more unjust than one who... }

And who among people is more unjust than the one whom his Lord calls—by the tongue of His Prophet—to Islam, in which lies his happiness in both worlds, yet he replaces his response to it by fabricating lies against Allah, saying of His speech—which is a call for His servants to the Truth—that it is "magic," because magic is falsehood and deception.

  • Talha ibn Musarrif read it as: (wa-huwa yud‘ā), meaning: he is called and invited, similar to lamasahu (he touched it) and iltamasahu (he sought it).
  • Also from him: (yad‘ī), meaning: he calls, and it refers to Allah, the Almighty and Exalted.

{ They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers dislike it. }
