Al-Kashshaf on At-Taghabun 64:12

Surah At-Taghabun 64:12



ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ

And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.

At-Taghābun: (12) And obey Allah and obey...

{Then if you turn away} There is no blame upon him if you turn away, for it was not written upon him that you must obey him. It was only written upon him that he must convey and clarify, and nothing more.

{And upon Allah let the believers rely} An incitement for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah exalt him and his family and grant them peace) to rely upon Him and seek strength in Him regarding his affair, until He grants him victory over those who denied him and turned away from him.

(14) O you who have believed, indeed, among your wives and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. * Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.
