Tafsir of Al-A'raf 7:11

{And We have certainly created you, then We gave you form}

It means: We created your father, Adam, as unformed clay, then We gave him form after that. Do you not see His saying: {Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"}?

{...among those who prostrated} Meaning: Among those who prostrated to Adam.

{He said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."}
