Al-Aʿrāf: 18

{مذءوماً} (Disgraced/Censured): Derived from dhāʾamahu (to censure/blame), meaning madhmūman (blamed). Al-Zuhrī recited it as madhūman (with a lightened hamza), similar to masūl for masʾūl.

The lām in {لَمَن تَبِعَكَ} (whoever follows you) is a muwaṭṭiʾah (a particle preparing the way) for an oath. {لَأَمْلَأَنَّ} (I will surely fill) is the response to that oath, and it occupies the place of the response to the conditional clause.

{مِنكُمْ} (From among you): Meaning from you and from them. The pronoun of the addressee (the second person) is given precedence, as in His saying: {Indeed, you are a people who are ignorant} (Al-Aʿrāf: 138).

ʿIṣmah narrated from ʿĀṣim: {لِمَن تَبِعَكَ} (For whoever follows you) with a kasrah on the lām, meaning: "For whoever follows you among them, this threat applies," which is His saying: {I will surely fill Hell with you all together}. In this reading, {لَأَمْلَأَنَّ} is in the position of the subject (mubtadaʾ), and {لِمَن تَبِعَكَ} is its predicate (khabar).

Al-Aʿrāf: 19–22

{وَيَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ}

{فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْآتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ}

{وَقَاسَمَهُمَا إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ}

{فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ}
