Al-Aʿrāf: 43
"And We will have removed whatever is in their breasts of resentment..."
Whoever harbored resentment toward his brother in this world, it shall be removed from him. Their hearts will be sound and purified, and there will be nothing between them but mutual love and affection.
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I hope that I, Uthman, Talha, and al-Zubayr are among them."
"...He has guided us to this..."
Meaning: He granted us the success that led to this great triumph, which is faith and righteous deeds.
"...and we would never have been guided..."
The lam (in la-nahtadiya) is for the emphasis of negation. They mean: It would not have been possible for us to be guided were it not for Allah’s guidance and granting of success.
In the codices of the people of Syria, it is written "ma kunna nahtadi" without the waw, treating it as a sentence clarifying the one preceding it.
"...had Allah not guided us. Certainly, the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth."
They were a grace and a reminder for us to be guided, so we were guided. They say this out of joy and delight at what they have attained, finding pleasure in speaking of it—not as an act of worship or seeking proximity to Allah. It is like someone in this world who is blessed with good and speaks of it, unable to refrain from mentioning it due to their joy, not for the sake of religious devotion.
"...And they will be called, 'This is Paradise...'"
The an (in an tilkum) is the lightened form of the heavy anna. The estimation is: "And they were called [with the message] that this is Paradise." The pronoun is one of state and discourse, or it may function as ay (meaning); because calling out is a form of speech, as if it were said: "And it was said to them: 'This is Paradise...'"
"...which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do."
It is by virtue of your deeds, not merely by grace—contrary to what the proponents of falsehood claim.
"And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, 'We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?' They will say, 'Yes.' Then an announcer will announce among them, 'The curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers—who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers.'"
