Surah Al-Insan 76:4

ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ

Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze.

Al-Insān: (4) Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers...

Having mentioned the two groups, He followed them with the threat and the promise.

"Salāsil" (chains) is read without tanwīn (nunation), and "Salāsilā" is read with tanwīn. Regarding the latter, there are two interpretations:

  1. That this nūn is a substitute for the vowel of absolute release (iṭlāq), treating the state of connection (waṣl) as one would treat a pause (waqf).
  2. That the one who recited it this way was someone accustomed to narrating poetry, whose tongue had become practiced in declining that which is indeclinable (ṣarf ghayr al-munṣarif).

{ Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup whose mixture is of camphor. A spring from which the servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in abundance. They fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. Indeed, we fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." }
